ARV Construction Trades Hard Hats for… Comfortable Cotton Shirts? A New Venture from Oregon’s Leading Builder

Hillsboro, OR – You know ARV Construction LLC as the team building the foundations of Oregon, literally. From sprawling commercial projects to solid residential builds, they're the name synonymous with quality and reliability in the construction industry. But lately, something unexpected has been happening at the ARV headquarters – sewing machines are humming alongside the power tools. That's right, ARV Construction, the company known for brick and mortar, is branching out into… comfortable cotton shirts. “It sounds a little crazy, doesn’t it?” laughs Alex Vargas, founder and CEO of ARV Construction. “We’re builders, not fashion designers. But it all came from a practical problem.” For years, Vargas explains, the team at ARV Construction struggled to find work shirts that could actually withstand a day on the job site and feel good. “Everything was either super durable but scratchy and uncomfortable, or soft enough to feel good but falling apart after a week. Our crews were constantly complaining – and honestly, rightfully so. We needed something better.” So, naturally, they decided to make it themselves. “We figured, we’re good at building things, right? This is just… a different kind of building,” Vargas chuckles. “We started researching fabrics, designs, everything. We wanted a shirt that was tough enough for framing a house, comfortable enough to wear all day, and didn't look like something you’d only wear on a job site.” The result is a remarkably simple, yet thoughtfully designed, cotton shirt. It’s not flashy. There are no gimmicks. Just a solid, well-made shirt crafted from a custom-blend of long-staple cotton. “We didn’t want to reinvent the wheel,” explains Sarah Miller, who’s been spearheading the shirt project alongside her construction management duties. “We focused on the details that matter. We wanted a heavier weight cotton for durability, but pre-shrunk so it doesn't end up two sizes too small after a few washes. We reinforced the seams, added a roomy, but not oversized, fit for freedom of movement, and kept the design clean and classic.” The shirts are currently available in three colors: a classic navy blue, a rugged charcoal grey, and a versatile olive green. The initial response from ARV Construction’s own crews has been overwhelmingly positive. “Honestly, I was skeptical at first,” admits foreman, Mark Johnson. “But this shirt is amazing. It’s soft, it holds up to everything I throw at it, and I don’t feel like I’m constantly itching. I actually look forward to putting it on each morning.” The surprising success within the company led ARV Construction to consider expanding beyond just equipping their own team. They quietly launched a small online store a few weeks ago, offering the shirts to the public. “We weren’t really planning to sell these to anyone outside the company,” Vargas says. “But the demand has been surprising. We’ve had orders from other construction companies, landscapers, mechanics, even folks just looking for a comfortable, durable everyday shirt.” What sets the ARV Construction shirt apart isn’t just the quality of the materials or the thoughtful design. It’s the perspective that comes from a company that truly understands what it means to work hard and need clothing that can keep up. “We didn’t approach this from a fashion perspective,” Miller explains. “We approached it from a practical perspective. We knew what our guys needed, and we built a shirt to meet those needs. It's about comfort, durability, and functionality. If it can withstand a day on a construction site, it can withstand anything.” The shirts are made in the USA, a point of pride for ARV Construction. They're currently being produced in a small facility just outside of Portland, employing local workers. “We believe in supporting the community,” Vargas says. “And we wanted to ensure the same level of quality control that we demand in our construction projects. Made in the USA allows us to do that.” While ARV Construction isn’t exactly pivoting away from building, the cotton shirt venture represents a fascinating diversification. It’s a testament to the company’s commitment to problem-solving and its willingness to innovate, even in unexpected areas. “We’re builders at heart,” Vargas says with a smile. “But we’re also problem-solvers. And we realized we had a solution to a problem a lot of hardworking people face. So, we built a shirt. And we’re pretty proud of it.” Where to find ARV Construction’s Cotton Shirts: Currently available online at [Insert Fictional Website Address Here - e.g., www.arvconstructionwear.com].
